Wild Camping ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spain

Wild Camping ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spain

My first ever wild camping on my home continent. I’m British, but I do consider myself to be more European ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ!

The first nights wild camping in any country I always feel a bit apprehensive! One takes time to get a feel for a country when wild camping โ›บSpain initially seems to have a fair few of high fences around. But this is early days, so we shall see how it pans out. Every region in Spain adopts very different attitudes to land.

Once I get into the lay-of-the-land and followed my out of sight-out-of-mind philosophy, I was fine. I also never let anyone see myself go in!

Spain is fairly unpopulated out of the main towns, so it’s quiet. With a caveat of the barking dog ๐Ÿถ again! But this time without the whaling minarets as in a Muslim country like Morocco!

Drinking water wasn’t too hard to come by as there was inevitably a standpipe of some kind in the villages and the occasional stream. Some streams though smelt a bit septic!

I also frequented a lot of cafes (coffee โ˜• as it was cheap at a euro or two) and would top up my water vestibules while there.

Some very picturesque wild camping spots can be found, if you’re willing to put the work in! National Parks are a no go for camping, so be stealthy too!
