La Guijarrosa ๐ช๐ธ Torredonjimento
After my heartyย ๐ meal last night, I set off with renewed vigor. Well, I do every day on my bicycle!ย
Heading towards the town of Puente Genil. This provides a chance to refresh my stores. I’m dragging out the day as I wish not to hit the green-way until I’ve obtained a adequate supply of water. Then, I can set camp for the night as I’ve no guarantee where I’ll encounter water on the trail next.
I call into the grounds of a large building, hoping to find a standpipe ๐ฐ and then scarper before anyone rumbles me! But, I had to go knocking to obtain water. I’m at a young persons rehab-facility! ๐ฎ The head cook invites me into the kitchen. I leave with an abundance of fruit, fizzy drink and water supplies stocked up. I think I was a novelty and presented some volunteers with a chance to try their very good English, against my significantly poorer Spanish! ๐ช๐ธ
I waved goodbye and striked the start of my first Vรญas Verdes (green-ways).
Green-ways: Old disused railway lines ๐ค๏ธ that have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. An endless coverage of olive trees, along with 13 metal viaducts impressive nineteenth century, are the main hallmarks of the 128 km route in the provinces of Jaรฉn and Cรณrdoba.
128km of trail … whoop whoop!
Only 1km or so into the trail I promptly find a stealth camping ๐๏ธ spot amongst the olive trees! Out-of-sight-out-of-mind. I hope!
The following day, I casually jollied along the trail. Over various bridges, through small towns and stopping for a cafe, till it was time to set camp up, again. Yes, under an olive ๐ณ tree!

Hmmm … it’s a like a real life, repetition! ๐คช
