So, another tent!

My previous tent was a Vango Nitro 200 plus. This in it’s own right is a superb tent, but more suited to the British climate. With future cycle journeys planned for warmer climates; Australasia/Africa, I felt a more appropriate tent would be required for these continents.

After extensive research, mainly through cycle touring blogs, the consensus was the MSR (Mountain Safety Research) Hubba. It’s been a preferred choice of cycle adventurists in Africa and other tropical climates.

The Hubba is a single-occupancy tent 🏕️ with myself always wishing for a bit more room, I have opted for the Hubba Hubba.

Initial set up of the tent was a breeze. First attempt took no more than five minutes at the most, considering the Vango Nitro took nearly 15 to 20 minutes at the best of times.

The DAC Featherlite NSL pole system with the all-in-one hub-and-swivel design, once released from the bag, literally sprang into formation. I also purchased a footprint (ground sheet), so with this pegged to the ground, all that is needed is to attach the inner tent corners to the pegs.

Then place the poles at the corners, attaching the inner tent to the poles, and in no time you have the mesh inner tent erected. If, then in warmer climates with no likely hood of rain, this will suffice.

Otherwise, just throw the rain sheet over the top, and you then have a fully weather-proofed home 🌦️

Head room is excellent, along with the two vestibules either side of the two entrances. I feel this could well be a good choice of tent.
