Châtelus-Malvaleix 🇫🇷 La Garde

Châtelus-Malvaleix 🇫🇷 La Garde

Setting off from Châtelus-Malvaleix after a lovely morning swim in the lake. And it was warm 🏊‍♂️ amazing 🙂

Now heading towards a friends house in an exceedingly small hamlet of La Garde. Not so long into the days ride I pass my 3,000 km’s mark for this journey.

What seems the norm, more municipal-camp-grounds 🎪 (presently my favorite subject!). In June and these sites are all but near empty, still. No doubt come the European holidays for two months in July/August, it’ll all change! Still only paying on average 4 to 7 €! Always in nice towns 🏘 (all the towns are nice, though!) with clean showers and hot water. Strange how one doesn’t wild camp, then! I can be a Princess 👸 at this price!

Dompierre-Les-Eglises especially proved a bargain of a municipal-camp-ground. Yes, it was open and at a cost of … 🆓! Not quite a camp ground, more an area to pitch-up. Still an ablution block and hot showers! No other campers around!

The walled town of Le Dorat is beautiful. It’s also hosting Le Tour de France later this month (2016). More of that in another post.

Enjoyed a traditional meal of steak and chips in an Irish 🇮🇪 restaurant! And then listened to some English bloke playing a ukulele on the stone ramparts 🎸 Not sure who had too many sherburts 🍻 him or me!

En route to Le Garde there was a point we got lost and ended up on a forest track, somewhere! Though, I might add, I’m not the one with the GPS 🛰 LOL 😆

With the continuous rain up through central France 🌧 my Samsung EX1 camera has given up the ghost. Not that I got it out when it was raining, it’s just the amount of moisture in the air. So photos are now solely taken with a Nokia Lumia 720 phone 😶
