Beaubiere to Le Cherbahun

I 🚴‍♂️the direct main road to Aubusson. An easy 35km to their municipal campground 🛑 Closed on the 1st Sept 🧐 I moved on 😐 Which then seemed to be eternally up hill 🤣 1st #wildcamp by a stream 👍 Not the best nights 💤 as the stream was loud 🤣 #France 🇫🇷 #bicycle #cycle

… Aubusson, I had stopped at in June 2016. It just happens to be a cross over junction on my routing 🗺️ The little things on a bicycle trip 🚴‍♂️ thinking a full on hot shower (douche 🇫🇷) 1st in 4 weeks, scuppered! Deflated me a little 😐 Lunch there, then bon voyage 👋 #Aubusson

Le Cherbahun to Lake Maulde

It’s mighty cold in the mornings 5° this one 😳 But I’m up on the Massif Central. Present elevation 620m (2030ft). I’m very much off-piste regarding Voie Vertes & EuroVelos. Up in logging country. It’s all blissfully quiet commune’s 🤠 #France 🇫🇷 #bicycle #cycle

… Following a V736. Takes me away from main rds and the automobile tourist route. All very quiet back roads, but it with that very lumpy ⛰️⛰️⛰️ lots & lots of climbing! But then charge phone/camera etc. on the decent with my SON dynamo hub ⚙️

… This morning I lost a glove liner. Just enough to keep the fingers from freezing off ☺️ It was very ❄️ I was fuming all day about it 😤 Found in sleeping bag that night 🎉 The simple joy these finds bring to me 🙂

Lake Maulde to Chatelus-le-Marcheix

I head out of my #wildcamp just after sunrise 0730 🌄 Not as cold as the previous morning, but a climb is still more than welcome🌡️ A nippy wind 🌬️ and a cemetery shelter serves as a wind break for morning coffee ritual ☕ All quiet here ☺️ #France 🇫🇷 #bicycle #cycle

… I was hoping for a photo with an impressively big pile of logs 🌲🌲 but the light was never right! I’ve had to make do with a impressively big pile of sticks instead 🧐

… Before turning a little south, then bearing westerly for a new route I stopped at Châtelus-le-Marcheix for 🚰 I then noticed the sign for a municipal campground. As I made the steep 1.5km ⬆️, all the time thinking, it’ll be closed …BAM nearly empty. Have I found a gem?

Rest day

Yep, a gem 💎 of a municipal campground 🎪 Took a rest day after all the climbing 🤣 My excuse! It was nearly deserted. Off the main tourist route helps 👍 Got a short hike in🚶‍♂️#bicycle #cycle #France 🇫🇷 Châtelus-le-Marcheix

… Municipal campgrounds only need to do the basics right, then they’re perfect. €5.50 per night 👍 Piping hot🌡️shower 🥰

Châtelus-le-Marcheix to Burgnac

Opposite day to my rest day … climbing & more climbing ⬆️ Pro-cyclists say, I’d the legs for it! 🍗🍗 I thought going through Limoges would be flat near the river, I was wrong 🤣 The route was parallel to the river, but that was about it 🙄 #bicycle 🚲 #cycle #France 🇫🇷

… Photos limited due to wanting to get the hell on the otherside of Limoges while there was still light to find a rural #wildcamp spot before nightfall 🌒 Didn’t help a diversion I ignored 🛑 then had to find my way out as no way through 🛑 without the climb back up another hill 🤣
