After an unexpected night indoors, curtsy of the Jarrahdale Environmental Centre  At a cost of 💲17 each. Bloody bargain! And no one else at home 😁

The first port of call before leaving Jarrahdale, was to its well stocked general stores/post office 🏤 Then immediately, what felt like a mountain to climb as soon as on the trail. Literally or I was having an off morning 🤣

Came across my first ‘proper’ fly-tipping site 🗑 It was a good’in! Even had a slide and a couple of fans to cool me down while playing. How considerate‼

Plenty more great single track. Awesome riding even with full panniers. You can cover the same ground as a bikepacking set-up (which is all the rave at the mo) … just slower.

North Dandalup Dam is a pleasant sight for the eyes, with its deep blue waters. Also a toilet block to boot. Easy, fresh, drinking water 🚰

Dandalup Hut offers a very idyllic setting. Unbelievably, someone had written in the hut social-log-book, that the view could be improved by cutting down the trees in front. Beggars belief!

The following day snakes towards the small town of Dwellingup. Passing over the impressive Wolesley conveyor. A huge, 50 km’s of belt. The largest in the southern hemisphere. As with most things in Australia … generally on the larger than normal size!

Dwellingup offered up another bit of accommodation, in the form of a friend’s, empty, holiday, house 🏡 It was too hot to sleep inside, so tent up out the back.

Picked up my first ever tick ✔ A Kangaroo Tick. Fortunately, it doesn’t carry Lime disease like its UK cousin. Prized it off by drowning it in a bottle of Tea Tree Oil. Just tip the bottle onto the critter. That’ll f*%k it up, and it’ll let go!

After two nights at Dwellingup, we head towards Bidjar Ngoulin Hut. Quite a bit of the trail on this section uses some more ‘Form’ (old railway line) 🚂 Makes for some easy cycling. Take the rough-with-the-smooth!
